Jogo reduzido. Sempre o jogo reduzido como forma de estimular desde cedo a relação com bola e a tomada de decisão.
Sempre no centro do jogo.
“In recent seasons our Academy boys have started to play Futsal – what is that exactly?
Futsal is a game that’s very popular throughout Europe, Asia and South America. Through an increased number of touches (12 times more than in an 11-a-side game on average) it develops a players’ close-ball skills and, because they find themselves in reduced-space situations, they’re constantly forced to make quick decisions which demands speed of thought and quick reactions. It may be different from what they’re used to when playing 11-a-side, but ultimately it’s still all about preparation, intensity and working together for one common goal.
What are the benefits of playing indoor football?
Although it’s played on a smaller pitch and with fewer players, it’s proved extremely useful in terms of developing technique and skill – which is something that we have looked very closely at. There’s a lot to be said for playing Futsal, and our players have all really taken to it. There are a lot of one-v-one situations, so they’re learning to beat their markers, while you’ll also see a lot of intricate passes, working angles and creating space. It’s very attacking, but at the same time there are a lot of tactical elements too – they have to react to the speed of the game. They use a slightly smaller, but heavier ball, so once it’s on the floor, it’s then about moving and manipulating your feet and your body to be more skilful. Obviously our main priority is 11-a-side football, but our players can learn a lot from playing smaller-sided matches.”
